Brandi Huff BSc, NSCA-CPT (pend)
General Manager / Personal Training
Originally from Kingston, Brandi has had the pleasure of living and studying all over our beautiful country. Brandi has had numerous professions ranging from a circus performer in Mexico to a forklift driver in Northern British Columbia (that should give you a great conversation piece when you meet her).
Brandi has always had a passion for sports and leading an active lifestyle, you would be hard pressed to find a sport she has not competed in. She found herself wandering off that path and it was Taylored Training that got her back in the right direction. Brandi first started at TT as a client and it was when she overcame her own obstacles and was able to achieve her own personal fitness goals that she realized that her passion was leading her into a career in the fitness industry. Brandi wants to be a part of helping members attain a sense of accomplishment and self-worth, just as she did through her own training.
I want to be here for the people that are wandering off their path and help them find their way in fitness. To offer them the support as well as provide the tools that I was fortunate enough to have received in my experience as a client. I know the importance of needing that rock that is there for you through the tough times, to kick you in the butt or give you a high five at exactly the right time and to push you to the limits.
I am excited about the growth of Taylored Training Fitness and feel honored to be a part of it. I know with the expert staff and amazing clients that together we are going to be able to help people make the right lifestyle choices and provide them with the education, tools and support to achieve the active and healthy lives they desire.
Vanessa Giguere, M.Sc. NSCA-CPT
Programming Manager / Personal Trainer
Vanessa is originally from Timmins, a Northern Ontario town where people value family, friends, the outdoors, hockey and her personal favorite curling.
Vanessa has a degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph and a Master's in Anatomical Sciences from Queen's University. The Master's program incorporated graduate level courses in human anatomy, principles of teaching, microteaching and a thesis project. The practicum of the Master's focused on gaining knowledge and experience in teaching anatomical disciplines and curriculum design to undergraduate and graduate students.
Vanessa's interest in physical health and exercise has guided her to become a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, which provides her the opportunity to help individuals obtain personal goals and set lifelong principles to maintain a balanced, healthy life.
One of Vanessa's favorite quotes is from a SportsNet commercial which says, be passionate in everything you do and be different. Vanessa believes that being different gives you confidence to utilize your unique qualities but the most important is to be passionate because without passion you'll have no drive or dedication to achieve any personal goals you try to accomplish.
I understand that exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be challenging. My goal is to make your experience at Taylored Training somewhat of a love - hate relationship. First, I will always be honest with you!! Yes, the workout will be challenging, it will not be easy and I will push you. If you think about it this is the only time when failure is the goal. The upside to this is that you will feel a sense of accomplishment and desire to push harder and test your physical limits.
I can help you with any goal they wish to achieve such as doing the perfect triceps pushup, losing 50 pounds or pursuing a lifelong dream of competing in a fitness competition. I can help you discover and accomplish goals they never thought were possible.
My job as a personal trainer is to build you a training program to suit your needs, set your goals and push your limits. More importantly the time you invest with me will teach you how to stay active and workout on your own. My goal is to have you feeling confident and excited about exercising.
Cassie Dionne RPT, BPHE, MScPT
Physiotherapist
Cassie completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Queen’s University. She also has a number of years’ experience working with varsity teams at a local and university level. Cassie has dedicated herself to continuing education attending numerous fitness and functional rehabilitation conferences, as well as continuing education courses in soft tissue release, manual therapy, and a variety of other assessment techniques. Cassie has also undergone her own physical transformation, recently losing over 100lbs, and she knows the value and importance of a good training program to help you reach your goals.
Cassie choose physiotherapy as her profession as she has always been fascinated by how the body works; how they function, how they thrive, how they at times can do the seemingly impossible, while at other times can’t even seem to even hold us upright.
Cassie says one of her favourite quotes asks, “What would you attempt to do if you knew you would not fail?” Her response to this question: We can help get your there. When we don’t to care of our bodies we increase our risk of injury and live below the level of lifestyle and health we are capable of.
During my undergraduate schooling I completed a dual-degree program obtaining a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Health Studies. I am now currently finishing my Masters in Physical Therapy, a program that incorporates courses in anatomy, physiology, and the prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardio-respiratory conditions.
I have always been interested in health and fitness, but it wasn't until undergoing my own personal transformation and losing over 100 pounds that I realized that health and fitness is my passion in life. I am dedicated now to helping others realize this passion and lead the healthy, active lifestyle they are capable of.
I believe that our lives are formed by the decisions and choices we make, and until we make that decision to change our lives our goals will always seem just out of reach. Until we make that decision, there will always be an “excuse” or a “reason” we cannot reach our goal - whether it be to lose fat, perform that perfect pushup, or return to your sport following an injury. This decision to change your life is yours to make - I cannot make it for you. But, what I can and promise to do is to help you get there. And once you have made that choice, the possibilities are endless.
One of my favourite quotes asks, “What would you attempt to do if you knew you would not fail?” My goal is to help you not only find out what you would attempt to do, but also discover everything you can accomplish. Some of which you may have, at one time, considered impossible. And I promise, though it may be hard at times, we will always have fun along the way.
